Elisabeth Sherman

Elisabeth Sherman has a wealth of experience in the field of curatorial work and art exhibitions. Elisabeth most recently held the position of Senior Curator and Director of Exhibitions and Collections at the International Center of Photography, starting in January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at the Whitney Museum of American Art, where they served as an Assistant Curator from July 2015 to December 2022 and as a Senior Curatorial Assistant from August 2010 to July 2015. Elisabeth also worked as a Curatorial Assistant at the American Federation of Arts from April 2010 to August 2010.

Elisabeth Sherman pursued their education in art history, starting with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College, which they completed from 2002 to 2006. Subsequently, they enrolled at the Courtauld Institute of Art, U. of London, where they obtained a Master of Arts degree in Art History from 2007 to 2008.
