Ali Vaez is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in academia and international relations. Currently serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Georgetown University since August 2018, Ali Vaez has also held the position of Project Director and Senior Advisor at the International Crisis Group since March 2012. In addition, Vaez was a Non-resident Fellow at the Foreign Policy Institute of Johns Hopkins SAIS from May 2019 to May 2023, and served as a Senior Political Affairs Officer for the United Nations in 2020. Earlier roles include Director of the Iran Project at the Federation of American Scientists and Research Fellow at Harvard University. Ali Vaez holds an MIPP from Johns Hopkins SAIS, a Post Doctoral Fellowship from Harvard University, a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Universite de Geneve, and an M.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Geneva.
