Brian Finucane is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in law and research. Currently serving as a Senior Adviser at the International Crisis Group and Editor at Just Security, Finucane has a strong background in international and national security law from a previous role as Attorney-Adviser at the U.S. Department of State. Prior legal experience includes a law clerk position at the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, where Finucane engaged in legal research and writing, and investigations into war crimes with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Office of the Prosecutor for War Crimes in Bosnia. Finucane also directed the Ayacucho Archaeo-Isotope Project and worked as an anthropologist/archaeologist on the Tilemsi Valley Project. Educational credentials include a JD from Yale Law School, a DPhil from Oxford University, and a BA in Anthropology from Cornell University.
