Sandra Breka

Sandra Breka serves as the Vice President and COO of Open Society Foundations since October 2022, and is a Member of the Board of Trustees at International Crisis Group and the Berghof Foundation. Breka has been involved with the European Endowment for Democracy since November 2012 as a Member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. Previous roles include Trustee at the Munich Security Conference and CEO at Robert Bosch Stiftung, where responsibilities included Senior Vice President for International Affairs and Head of the Berlin Representative Office. Breka also held the position of Director of Programs for Southeast Europe and Security Issues at Aspen Institute Germany and began a career in 1998 as an Assistant Program Officer at American Council on Germany. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University and participation in the World Fellows Program at Yale University in 2008.
