Zaur Shiriyev

Analyst, South Caucasus at International Crisis Group

Zaur Shiriyev is an experienced analyst specializing in the South Caucasus region. Currently serving as an Analyst at the International Crisis Group since January 2018, Zaur also held the role of Research Fellow at the same organization. Prior experience includes project management for the PeaCE program at Eurasia Partnership Foundation, focusing on peacebuilding initiatives among Armenians and Azerbaijanis. Zaur’s background features research fellowships at Chatham House, where several projects concerning Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus were developed, and senior research roles at ADA University and the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Zaur began a research career as a Researcher at USAK, concentrating on the South Caucasus, after serving as a Research Assistant at the Turkish Asian Center for Strategic Studies.
