Head Of Communications at International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies

Mey AL Sayegh has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Mey most recently worked at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) as the Head of Communications and previously served as a Communications Officer responsible for web content in Arabic. Prior to that, they were a Communications Manager at the Lebanese Ministry of Social Affairs, where they played a key role in the Lebanon Crisis Response Plan (LCRP). Before joining the ministry, Mey worked as a Communication Manager at the Ministry of State for Displaced Affairs (Syrian Refugees). Mey was responsible for developing communication strategies, managing media relations, and creating and managing social media platforms. Prior to their government roles, Mey worked at Aljoumhouria Newspaper as a Senior Correspondent and later as the Co-Head of the International Department. Mey also gained experience as a trainee at Télé Liban. Additionally, Mey has a background in hospitality as a hostess at Maison de L'Artisan under the Ministry of Social Affairs. Overall, Mey AL Sayegh has a strong background in communications, media relations, and crisis response.

Mey AL Sayegh holds a Diploma in Strategic Communication and Journalism from the American University of Beirut, which was obtained from 2018 to 2019. Additionally, they have a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Water Governance: Frameworks and Negotiations from the University of Geneva, completed in 2018. In 2004 to 2005, they earned a Diploma in International and Diplomatic Relations from the Lebanese University. Furthermore, they have obtained multiple certifications, including Regional IHL Training for Humanitarian Aid Workers from Diakonia in 2019 and Conflict Sensitive Reporting from DW Akademie-AUB in the same year.
