Kerry Waananen

Kerry Waananen is a seasoned communications and content professional with extensive experience in the esports and marketing sectors. Currently serving as Head of Communications at Paper Crowns since August 2022, Waananen has previously held positions such as International Business Development at Loadout and Senior Communications Manager at GRID esports. With a strong background in content creation, Waananen worked as a Freelance Content Creator for Esports Insider, where contributions included hosting The Industry Podcast and developing multimedia content. Additional roles include Content Lead at The Esports Radar, Co-Founder & Creative Director at Lekker Heavy, and Marketing Content Creative at Try Catch. Waananen has also contributed to academia as an esports guest lecturer at several institutions, focusing on topics such as journalism and branding within the esports industry. Waananen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Anthropology & Global Health from the University of Washington, complemented by studies at Sichuan University.
