Jim Ray, CFRE has a diverse range of work experience. Jim served as the Director of Gift Planning at the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews from 2009 onwards. Prior to this, they were the Director at Street2Street from 2007. Jim also contributed as the Past President and Member of the Board of Directors at the Planned Giving Council of Middle Tennessee, starting from 2010 until 2017. Jim worked as a Gift Planning Officer at the American National Red Cross from 2007 to 2009. Additionally, Jim held the position of Director of Development at both the University of Missouri Health Care from 2004 to 2007 and the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2001 to 2004. Lastly, they kicked off their career as an Estate Planning Manager at Family Life Communications, where they worked from 1998 to 2001.

Jim Ray, CFRE, began their education at Tennessee Temple University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management from 1984 to 1990. In 1998 to 1999, they attended The National Planned Giving Institute at the College of William and Mary, where they obtained a certification in Gift Planning.

In addition to their educational background, Jim Ray also holds the certification of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), which they obtained from CFRE International in October 2005.
