Sophina Gapare began their work experience in 2001 at Bupa as a Healthcare Policy Specialist. Sophina then worked as a Case Management Specialist at BUPA International from 2005 to 2006. In 2006, they became the Head of Managed Care at Legal & General. From 2007 to 2012, they worked as a Commercial Manager and Programme Manager at Healix Health Services, where they managed the development and implementation of a claims administration and case management system. In 2011, they served as a Trustee at Thornhill High School Alumni Trust. From 2012 to 2013, they were a Commercial Manager at Healix Group of Companies. Sophina then served as the General Manager at Healix Kenya from 2013 to 2015. Sophina joined Healix International and HX Global in 2015 as a Transitional Operations Manager and later became the IPMI Operations Manager from 2016 to 2017. Currently, they are the Director of Global Quality and Process Improvement at International Medical Group (IMG) since 2017. Throughout their career, they have held various leadership and management roles, focusing on quality improvement, transformation, and operations.

Sophina Gapare completed their education in a chronological manner. Sophina started their academic journey at Robert Gordon University from 1994 to 1997, where they pursued general nursing as their field of study. Afterward, from 1997 to 1999, they attended the RCN Institute and obtained a Bachelor of Science with Honors degree in Nursing Studies. Continuing their education, they enrolled at City, University of London from 2009 to 2011. During this period, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Executive Health Management.
