Asad Qureshi

Asad Qureshi is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in central banking and financial markets. Currently serving as a Senior Financial Sector Expert at the International Monetary Fund since June 2014, Asad specializes in central bank operations, providing technical assistance, surveillance support, and best practices dissemination. Prior to this role, Asad was the Executive Director of Financial Markets & Reserve Management at the State Bank of Pakistan, where responsibilities included oversight of investment portfolio management and monetary policy. Asad’s career also includes significant positions at American Express Bank, ANZ Grindlays Bank, and early experience at Argus Advertising. Educational qualifications include an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce from Karachi University.
