Augustus J. Panton

Augustus J. Panton is an accomplished economist currently serving at the International Monetary Fund since January 2021 and as a Research Associate at The Australian National University (ANU) since May 2017. With expertise in macro and microeconomics, Augustus has contributed as an Associate Lecturer and previously as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at ANU's Research School of Economics. Notable accolades include the ANU Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Education in 2019 and several teaching commendations. Prior experience includes positions as an Adam Smith Fellow at the Mercatus Center, Research Consultant at The Brookings Institution, and Economist roles at the Central Bank of Liberia. Augustus holds a PhD in Economics from ANU and multiple degrees in International Economics, Finance, and Accounting from various institutions.
