Chen Chen

Senior Economist at International Monetary Fund

Chen Chen is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in both research and policy analysis. Currently serving as a Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund since January 2021, Chen previously contributed to the World Resources Institute as an Economist from February 2018 to January 2021. Prior roles included Research Faculty and Post-doc Research Fellow at the University of Notre Dame, as well as a researcher focused on climate and energy at Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei from April 2010 to December 2012. Early career experience includes a brief internship at Cargill in late 2008. Chen holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Zhejiang University, graduating from the Chu KoChen Honors College.
