Doris Akol

Senior Economist

Doris Akol is a Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund, overseeing project management focused on medium term revenue enhancement reforms to strengthen tax capacity in Asia-Pacific countries since October 2021. Additionally, as a Technical Assistance Advisor in the Fiscal Affairs Department, Doris advises on fiscal policies. Previous experience includes serving as a Partner at Kyagaba & Otatiina Advocates, where responsibilities encompassed policy analysis and tax advocacy, and a distinguished tenure as the Commissioner General and Board Member at Uganda Revenue Authority, leading tax administration efforts. Doris holds multiple degrees, including an MBA in Leading Innovation and Change from York St. John University and an Executive Certificate in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School of Government, along with several legal qualifications.
