Selim Cakir is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in international finance and economic analysis. Currently serving as a Resident Representative and Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund since August 2016, Selim previously held the position of Chief Economist at TEB and BNP Paribas from July 2008 to July 2016, where responsibilities included oversight of economic strategy for Turkey and the Gulf Cooperation Council. Earlier in Selim's career, valuable experience was gained as a Senior Advisor to the Executive Director and Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund from October 1999 to July 2008.
