Yesim Ozbilgin Aydin

Senior Financial Sector Expert at International Monetary Fund

Yesim Ozbilgin Aydin, FRM, currently serves as a Senior Financial Sector Expert at the International Monetary Fund since August 2020. Prior to this role, Yesim was the Examination Group Head at the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency from December 2003 to August 2020, overseeing on-site examinations and contributing to various committees. Yesim also held positions as a Senior Bank Examiner and Bank Examiner, focusing on the supervision of banks and financial institutions, as well as financial regulation design. Additionally, a brief tenure as a short-term expert at the International Monetary Fund included a mission in Azerbaijan to evaluate its financial supervision framework. Earlier experience includes an economist role at the OECD and an auditor position at Oyak Bank. Yesim holds a Master of Science in Management and Regulation of Risk from The London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics from Middle East Technical University.
