Claudia Abate

Claudia Abate is a seasoned policy advisor currently serving at the International Olympic Committee in the Permanent Observer Office to the United Nations since June 2023. Abate founded and has been the Executive Director of The Foundation for Post Conflict Development since 2005. Previous roles include Director of Philanthropy and Senior Advisor at Synergos, as well as Conference Management Consultant for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations. Abate also held prominent positions such as Chairman of the Board for the PeaceJam Foundation and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister for Investment and Development in Timor-Leste. With extensive experience at the United Nations in various roles from 1993 to 2006, Abate possesses a strong academic background with a Master of Science in Social Sciences and a Graduate Certificate in United Nations Studies from Long Island University, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature from Rowan University.
