Michael Franczak is a Research Fellow at the International Peace Institute since June 2022, focusing on peace, climate, and sustainable development. As a Consultant, Michael has authored works on climate change loss and damage. In January 2024, Michael began serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University in the MA/MSc program in International and World History, while also holding a Visiting Fellow position at the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Philosophy since July 2020 and previously a Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University from September 2018 to August 2020. Michael's consultancy experience includes working with the United Nations Climate Change Secretariat on climate adaptation for agriculture and food security. Michael holds a PhD in History from Boston College and a BA in History from the University of Michigan.
