Alyoscia D'onofrio

VP, Head of Technical Excellence at International Rescue Committee

Alyoscia D'onofrio is the current VP, Head of Technical Excellence at International Rescue Committee. Alyoscia has been with the company since June 1997, when they started as the Executive Director - UK. In this role, they led a newly established British development NGO through its first major growth phase, developing many facets of the business. This included board composition and role, strategic direction, programming sectors, business development strategy, human resource strategy, communications tools, etc.

In 2004, they established the IRC’s global centre of excellence in post-conflict programming in London. Alyoscia also established IRC-UK’s reputation as a key funding partner of the British government and European Union for program implementation in Africa, Asia and the Balkans. Under their leadership, the programming portfolio achieved significant growth and they created the framework for further rapid increases in funding over the remainder of the decade.

In addition to their work with the IRC, D'onofrio has also been engaged in policy debates around the reception and treatment of refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. Alyoscia has also developed IRC-UK’s first funding partnership with the British Home Office in support of refugees in the UK.

Alyoscia D'onofrio has a MA in Social and Political Thought from the University of Sussex and a BA in International Relations from the same school.
