Sharon Mims Owens, LMSW, CHWI, MHFA-I, CLYL, is a seasoned professional in social work and consulting with extensive experience in program management, policy evaluation, and community engagement. Currently serving as a Social Work Student Field Placement Instructor with the International Rescue Committee since April 2020, Sharon has previously operated as a Professional Consultant at SharonsFit.com, coordinating workshops on topics such as Laughter Yoga and Mental Health First Aid. Additionally, Sharon has a strong background in program specialization from a tenure at the Texas HHSC Office of Minority Health Statistics and Engagement, where equity and justice in service delivery were prioritized. With a Master’s degree in Social Work from Texas State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Howard Payne University, Sharon has also fulfilled roles as a Regional Disproportionality Specialist and Technical Consultant, demonstrating a commitment to training, public speaking, and community welfare.
