Tara Clerkin has extensive experience in climate resilience and agricultural development, currently serving as the Interim Climate Global Practice Lead and Director of Climate Research & Innovation at the International Rescue Committee since October 2016. In this role, Tara leads the Airbel Impact Lab's global research priority focused on climate-resilient agropastoral livelihoods in fragile contexts. Previous roles at the International Rescue Committee include Senior Coordinator for Agriculture, Climate, and Partnerships, where Tara provided technical support for economic recovery projects, and Interim Senior Livelihoods Manager overseeing recovery programs. Prior to this, Tara worked at the Clinton Development Initiative from October 2013 to September 2016 as Manager of Program Impact, enhancing the economic potential of smallholder farmers in Malawi, Tanzania, and Rwanda. Tara's earlier experience includes roles as Senior Program Associate and Program Associate, as well as internships with USAID and the Clinton Foundation. Tara holds a dual MA in Economics and International Political Economy and Development from Fordham University and a BBA from the University of Notre Dame.
