Regional Researcher, Water Efficient Allocation In Central Asian Transboundary River Basin at International Water Management Institute (IWMI)

MAHA Al-ZU'BI, Ph.D., currently serves as a Regional Researcher at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), focusing on water-efficient allocation in Central Asian transboundary river basins and various water security projects in the MENA region. With extensive experience in climate change and environmental sustainability, MAHA has contributed to multiple initiatives, including the WaPOR project on remote sensing for water productivity and the Al Murunah Project funded by the UK government. Previously, MAHA held roles at CGIAR, COP28 UAE, Global Communities, and UNDP, overseeing climate change portfolios and developing strategic sustainability methodologies. Academically, MAHA holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Design from the University of Calgary and has participated in various teaching and research roles at multiple universities.
