Mengna Li

Director, IWBI Asia at International WELL Building Institute

Mona Li is a Director at IWBI Asia. Based in New York, Mona connects Asia and HQ teams together, optimizing information sharing and operations across the globe. Mona also oversees program strategy and management, client relationship across multiple channels in China and throughout Asia to support the local business development and technical teams. She was one of the original team who helped launch WELL in China market in 2015 and has been a driving force for the market’s rapid success through broad adoption of the WELL Building Standard.

Prior to joining IWBI, Mona had experience in environmental sustainability, including specific expertise in waste-to-energy, renewable energy technologies and policies, corporate social responsibility, sustainability index, pollution control and strategies, and environmental finance. Mona was Business Analyst intern at Mereo 4, where she was part of business development and market analysis on multiple projects and prepared business briefs with great insight to the leadership. In the meanwhile, she also served as a board member of USGBC IL Emerging Professional Committee, organized professional events for the young professionals. Mona also worked at the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Hydrobiology, collecting data and conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Mona is certified WELL AP and LEED Green Associate. She holds a M.S. Degree in Environmental Management and Sustainability from Illinois Institute of Technology and B.S. Degree in Environmental Science with Biology focus from Heidelberg University.
