Olaf Kolkman

Principal, Internet Technology, Policy & Advocacy at Internet Society

Olaf Kolkman serves as the Principal for Internet Technology, Policy, and Advocacy at the Internet Society since July 2014, providing senior advisory and spokesperson duties while formulating and reviewing technical and policy positions. In addition to this role, Olaf holds several significant positions including Chief Internet Technology Officer at the Internet Society, Member of the Supervisory Board at SIDN, Treasurer for the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise, and member of the Strategic Advisory Board for the Global Cyber Alliance. Olaf has extensive involvement with the Internet Engineering Task Force as a participant and former Chair of the DNSEXT Working Group. Previous roles include advisory council membership at Bits of Freedom, trusted community representation in the DNSSEC root key ceremony for IANA, and commissionership at the Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace. Educational qualifications include a degree in Astronomy from the University of Groningen.
