Hauwa Mustapha-Otaru has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Hauwa started their career as a Sales Representative at Diya Fatimelehin & Co in 2007. Hauwa then moved on to work at Guarantee Trust Bank as part of the Access & Authorization Unit in the Information System Security department from 2008 to 2014. During this time, they managed access and authorization to banking systems applications, facilitated relationship management between GTB and corresponding foreign banks, and monitored system role base privileges and functionalities.

In 2014, Hauwa worked in the Internal Control Group at Guarantee Trust Bank, where their responsibilities included conducting thorough audits of branch ledgers, investigating system glitches, monitoring transactions and ATM activity, and investigating fraud and irregularities. Hauwa also responded to external auditors and regulatory authorities.

Hauwa joined Guaranty Trust Bank plc as a Relationship Manager in 2015, handling customer relationships for a brief period of 10 months. Hauwa then transitioned to the role of Transaction Service Supervisor from 2015 to 2018, overseeing transaction services within the bank.

In 2018, Hauwa joined Guranty trust bank as a Habari Support Supervisor. Their responsibilities included onboarding e-commerce merchants, managing content uploads on the platform, reviewing and improving the Habari application, responding to customer queries, analyzing complaints, and providing training and support to users. Under their supervision, the user ratings for the Habari platform increased from 3 to 4.5 in just one month.

Most recently, Hauwa joined the Interswitch Group in 2020 as an Acquirer Business Operations Manager. Their role involves ensuring the smooth deployment of new business and products through service design, documentation, and operationalization. Hauwa also monitors transaction trends, engages internal stakeholders to address uptime challenges, and designs and implements a faster onboarding platform for sales and merchants.

Throughout their career, Hauwa has demonstrated skills in operations management, customer support, project coordination, and risk management, making their a valuable asset in the financial and technology sectors.

Hauwa Mustapha-Otaru has a Master's degree in Business Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University, which they obtained from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Estate Management from the same university, from 1998 to 2005.
