Miles McKenna

Miles McKenna has a strong background in biosciences and research. Miles is currently working as a Manager in Pharmaceutical Business Development at InterVenn Biosciences since May 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of Bioscience Specialist at Nikon Instruments from July 2017 to October 2021.

Miles McKenna also has experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at Colorado State University from August 2012 to June 2017. During this time, they worked on identifying risks and mechanisms related to telomere dynamics and DNA structural rearrangements in astronauts due to space flight, in collaboration with the NASA Human Research Program.

Before their role at Colorado State University, they worked as a Research Associate at KromaTiD™ Inc. from January 2011 to June 2017. In this position, they focused on the research and development of cytogenetic-based diagnostic assays for mutation detection, disease diagnosis, and biodosimetry. Miles collaborated with pharmaceutical companies, government agencies, and academic/research institutions to develop and troubleshoot assay designs tailored to their needs.

In addition, Miles McKenna served as a Graduate Student Ambassador at CSU Ventures from September 2014 to May 2017. This role involved assisting in the identification of innovative research and inventions by interacting with students and faculty, as well as supporting technology transfer processes and intellectual property documentation.

Earlier in their career, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Flint Animal Cancer Center; Tumor Immunology Lab from November 2011 to December 2012, and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Colorado State University Department of Biology from August 2007 to April 2011.

Miles McKenna pursued higher education at Colorado State University, where they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences and Biomedical Sciences from 2006 to 2010. Later, from 2012 to 2017, Miles McKenna continued their education at the same university and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Cell and Molecular Biology with a specialization in Cancer Biology.
