Timothy Luchini

Timothy Luchini has held various professional positions since 2007. Timothy began their career at Laureate Machine and Manufacturing as a Project Engineering Assistant in 2007. Timothy then moved to Cooper Tire & Rubber Company in 2008 where they held the same role. In 2011, they began working as a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Toledo. During this time, they researched multifunctional materials, optimized composite ceramics, and developed material and process specifications. In 2012, they were a Research Assistant at Michigan State University's Composite Vehicle Research Center. From 2015 to 2020, they worked at Boeing in various roles, including Engineering Manager, Integrated Product Team Engineering Manager, and Engineer at Boeing Research and Technology. During this time, they developed composite material and process solutions, managed a $5M annual budget, and built relationships across functional organizations and business units. In 2017, they became an Adjunct Professor at Washington University in St. Louis, where they instructed courses on additive manufacturing, computer aided design and analysis, material science, design and simulation of heavy haul locomotives, and fluids. Most recently, in 2020, they became the Chief Executive Officer of intramotev Autonomous Rail, where they are responsible for building an organization, identifying industry pain points, raising capital, and deploying resources towards the end goal of a scalable revenue generating business.

Timothy Luchini began their educational journey in 2007 at South Dakota Mines, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering in 2011. Timothy then attended The University of Toledo and received a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2012. Finally, they completed their education in 2015 with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University.
