Xavier Garcia-Rojas has a wealth of experience in the medical field, starting in 2002 as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellow. In 2005, they began a Radiology Resident position at UTHSCSA, where they trained in diagnostic radiology. From 2011 to 2012, they were an Image Guided Therapy Fellow at Harvard Medical School, where they focused on solid tumor ablation. In 2013, they began working as a Radiologist at Synergy Radiology, where they interpreted diagnostic imaging studies and performed minimally invasive image-guided procedures. In 2015, they became a TMC Biodesign Innovation Fellow at TMC Innovation Institute, and in 2016 they took on an Externship (via TMC Biodesign) at Fannin Innovation Studio. In 2017, they became a Radiologist at Laser Prostate Centers of America, and in 2018 they began working as a Radiologist at StatRad. Xavier also served as a Co-Founder of IntuiTap Medical, Inc. in 2016.
Xavier Garcia-Rojas began their educational journey in 1996, earning a B.S. in Biology from The University of Texas-Pan American in 2000. Xavier then attended Baylor College of Medicine, where they earned an M.D. in 2005. Following this, they attended UT Health San Antonio, where they earned a Ph.D. in Radiological Sciences in 2011. In 2011, they also obtained a Diagnostic Radiology certification from The American Board of Radiology. From 2011-2013, they attended Harvard Medical School and completed Subspecialty Fellowships in Abdominal Imaging and Image Guided Therapy. Xavier also audited Harvard Business School during this time. Finally, from 2013-2015, they attended Rice Business - Jones Graduate School of Business, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General.
