Joseph Gawdzik

Senior Scientist II at Invenra

Joseph Gawdzik has worked in a variety of roles in the scientific field, beginning with their role as a Research Technologist at the University of Chicago Department of Medicine in 2008. In this role, they investigated the role inflammatory cytokines play in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Joseph then moved on to the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy, Division of Pharmaceutical Science, where they worked as a Graduate Student from 2011-2017. During this time, they researched the genetic mechanisms by which cardiac and cerebrovascular development are disrupted following exposure to environmental contaminants. After this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, School of Medicine and Public Health from 2017-2020, where they worked to identify epigenetic mechanisms that regulate prostate cancer progression, and transition to castration-resistant prostate cancer. Currently, they work as a Senior Scientist at Invenra, where they began in 2022.

Joseph Gawdzik received their Research Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a BS in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Purdue University in 2008.
