Christa Freeman

Assistant General Counsel at Invest Atlanta

Christa Freeman is currently the Assistant General Counsel at Invest Atlanta. Prior to this position, Christa worked as an attorney at Fincher Denmark LLC, where they were responsible for drafting and amending purchase sale agreements for commercial real estate acquisitions, as well as closing documentation for deeds, certificates, affidavits, 1099 S form and zoning letters. Christa also served as general counsel to the College Park Business & Industrial Development Authority.

From 2017 to 2018, Christa worked as Council Staff for the City of Atlanta. In this role, they served as staff attorney for city council/board meetings for Metro Atlanta local governments. Christa was responsible for drafting intergovernmental agreements, ordinances, resolutions, legal opinions, contracts and legal briefings for municipal governments, ensuring accurate and required documentation.

From 2015 to 2016, Christa worked as a Legal Associate in the Office of the CFO for the Government of the District of Columbia. In this role, they assisted with the development and implementation of the office’s litigation strategy, managed discovery projects and advised on potential legal risks.

Christa began their career as a Legal Intern with the City of Atlanta in 2014. In this role, they assisted with research projects and provided support to the city’s attorneys.

Christa Freeman earned their Doctor of Law degree from Howard University School of Law. Christa also holds a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Howard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Spelman College.
