Mark Govender

Mark Govender has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Mark currently holds the position of Head of Finance Technology at Investec since February 2024. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Information Officer at Barloworld Salvage Management and Disposal from January 2022 to December 2023, where they were responsible for the management of applications, infrastructure, analysis, support, and testing teams. Before that, they served as the Divisional Head of IT at Nedbank from January 2019 to January 2022, where they managed technology strategy, budget, systems analysis, development, testing, operations, security, and service management. In their earlier roles, they worked as a CIO at First National Bank and held senior positions at Accenture, Department for Constitutional Affairs, Telkom, Technology Services International, Siemens, and Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd. Their experience encompasses project and program management, software development, and financial management.

Mark Govender has a BSc degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
