Laurent Sorber

Laurent Sorber has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Starting in 2005, Sorber worked as a Software Engineer for Flemish League of Company Sports, where they contributed to building a web-based accounting platform and developed a jQuery alternative. In 2014, Sorber joined KU Leuven as a Free Research Associate. Later that year, they became a Data Scientist at KBC Bank & Verzekering, where they played a key role in establishing the bank's data science lab and managed a team of 15 data scientists. In 2016, Sorber transitioned to Forespell as a Managing Partner. Then, in 2018, they co-founded and became the CTO of both Radix, a Machine Learning company focusing on helping big companies and research institutes with their innovations, and InvestSuite.

Laurent Sorber completed their education with a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences from KU Leuven, graduating in 2014. Prior to their doctoral studies, they earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Mathematical Engineering from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven between 2008 and 2010. Laurent Sorber started their academic journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, which they completed from 2005 to 2008. Laurent Sorber's high school education was completed at Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-van-Lourdescollege, Edegem-Mortsel, where they pursued a curriculum focused on Science and Mathematics (8h) from 1999 to 2005.
