Spratley Kay has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Spratley started their career as a Legislative Aide for the State of California in 1989 and worked there until 1992. Spratley then joined PCI Communications as a Client Representative from 1995 to 1997. In 1998, they became the General Manager of NewsAsia, a video production company in Hong Kong, where they developed sales and managed all aspects of the business. Spratley left NewsAsia in 1999 to assist the owner in positioning the business for sale due to a transfer. From 2000 to 2001, Spratley worked as a Director of Business Development at Jack Morton Worldwide. Spratley then moved to PCI Communications, where they served as the Director of Business Development from 2001 to 2005. In 2004, Spratley joined InVision Communications as an Account Director and remained there until 2016. Spratley then took on the role of Director of Client Services at InVision Communications until 2020 when they were promoted to the position of Regional Vice President. Alongside these roles, Spratley also held the position of Account Director at InVision since 2005, where they were responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships.

Spratley Kay completed a BA degree in Government and French from the University of Virginia from 1984 to 1988. Afterward, from 1992 to 1994, Spratley pursued an MBA degree in International Business at the University of South Carolina.
