Gary Blumenthal

Gary Blumenthal has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of human services and advocacy. Gary most recently served as the Vice President Government Relations at InVision Human Services, where they provided supports and assistance to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President, Strategic and Special Projects at PAR - Pennsylvania Advocacy and Resources for Autism and Intellectual Disability, where they represented home and community-based service providers in Pennsylvania.

Blumenthal also served as the President & CEO of the Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers for over a decade, representing member agencies delivering supports and services to people with developmental disabilities in Massachusetts. Gary successfully collaborated in restoring over $200 million in funding for developmental disabilities and Medicaid state budgets.

In addition, they have held various executive roles including Executive Director at Johnson County Developmental Supports, Executive Director at Alta California Regional Center, and Executive Director at Florida Protection and Advocacy Programs. Gary has also served as the Member of the Board of Directors and Fiscal Affairs Chair at the National Council on Disability, an independent federal agency advising the President of the United States and Congress on disability issues.

Blumenthal's work experience also includes serving as the Executive Director of the President's Committee on Intellectual Disabilities, where they established National Collaborative Academies on Mental Retardation and provided best practice training to diverse stakeholders. Gary also represented the state of Kansas as a Member of the Kansas House of Representatives for ten years.

Throughout their career, Blumenthal has demonstrated a strong commitment to advocating for individuals with disabilities and promoting community inclusion.

Gary Blumenthal has a B.S. in Social Science Education from the University of Kansas at Lawrence and a B.S. in Education from The University of Kansas. Gary also holds an M.A. in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and another M.A. in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
