Lead, Strategic Commercial Support, Medical Affairs at Invitae

Britt Johnson, PhD, FACMG has a diverse work experience in the field of medical affairs, genetics, and research. Starting in 2008, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at UCSF until 2011, during which they also served as a Clinical Molecular Genetics Fellow. From 2011 to 2014, they joined the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, where they held various roles, including Assistant Laboratory Director and Assistant Professor of Human Genetics. In 2015, they joined Invitae as a Medical Director in the field of Metabolic Genetics and Immunology, and later became the Medical Affairs Director for Biopharma Partnerships. They then served as the Lead for U.S. Medical Affairs, and currently hold the position of Lead for Strategic Commercial Support, Medical Affairs at Invitae since July 2022.

Britt obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Genetics from The University of Georgia in 2003. Britt then pursued their Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they completed in 2008. Following that, they completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Neurology and Human Genetics at the University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine from 2008 to 2011. Britt further specialized in Clinical Molecular Genetics and Clinical Biochemical Genetics through fellowships at the University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine and the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, respectively.

In addition to their educational achievements, Britt Johnson holds several certifications, including the ABMG Clinical Molecular Genetics and Clinical Biochemical Genetics certifications from the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics. Britt also obtained various state certifications, such as the State of Florida Clinical Lab Director in Molecular Pathology and the State of Florida Clinical Lab Supervisor in Clinical Chemistry. Furthermore, they have received certification as a Medical Technologist in Clinical Chemistry from the American Association of Bioanalysts and has completed the necessary requirements to become a California Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Lab Director and a New York State Lab Director in Genetic Testing.
