Director Of Bioinformatics Operations at Invitae

Gene H. has a strong background in bioinformatics and genomics. Gene started their career as a Peer Academic Advisor at Undergraduate Student Affairs, UC Irvine in 2002. Gene then worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at UC Irvine, where they focused on computational modeling and network development. In 2005, they became a Doctoral Researcher at the University of California at San Diego, where they conducted research on biomarkers and predictors of disease and treatment. Gene also worked as a Post-doctoral Researcher at UC San Diego, specializing in next-generation sequencing and integrative genomics. In 2011, Gene joined Affymetrix as a Bioinformatics Scientist, where they facilitated custom array designs and developed web applications for data analysis. Currently, they are the Director of Bioinformatics Operations at Invitae, where they oversee bioinformatics operations and leads a team.

Gene H. earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from UC Irvine from 2000 to 2004. They then went on to obtain a Master of Science degree in Bioengineering from UC San Diego from 2004 to 2006. Gene H. later completed their education by earning a PhD in Bioengineering from UC San Diego from 2006 to 2010.
