Michael O'Brien

Michael O'Brien has extensive experience in facility and workplace management. Michael currently serves as the Global Head of Workplace Solutions at Invitae, overseeing laboratory operations, maintenance, engineering, facilities construction, and lease administration. Prior to this, they worked as the Senior Lead of Workplace Solutions in the East Region at Invitae, supporting real estate and facilities requirements for various locations. Before joining Invitae, O'Brien served as the Director of Facilities at JLL, where they managed the operation of the client's lab and offices. Michael has also provided workplace and facilities consulting and previously held positions at Syneos Health, Q2 Solutions, and Quintiles, where they led strategic priorities for facilities and real estate teams and managed the planning, development, and implementation of facilities processes and procedures. Overall, O'Brien brings over 25 years of experience in corporate real estate and facilities operations.

Michael O'Brien has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management of Human Resources from Roberts Wesleyan University. Michael also holds an Associate in Science degree in Business Administration from Monroe Community College. Michael has pursued graduate coursework in various fields including Industrial Labor Relations at Cornell University, Facilities Planning and Management at Michigan State University, and Education at the University of Rochester. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as Six Sigma Foundations from LinkedIn and the Certified Facility Manager (C.F.M.) from IFMA, which they received in June 2002.
