Luc Cary

Luc Cary has a range of experience in various roles and industries. They started their career as a Data Analyst at Twitter before becoming a Quality Assurance Engineer and then a Software Engineer. At Twitter, Luc developed CI/CD systems, code review applications, and performance monitoring systems. They also worked as a Senior Software Engineer, serving as the tech lead for the Mobile Tools development team.

Luc subsequently worked as a Senior Systems Developer at Columbia University Information Technology, where they were the tech lead for backend development and implemented a microservice architecture. They also served as a Research Software Engineer at MIT Brain and Cognitive Sciences, working in Josh Tenenbaum's AI Lab and developing program synthesis and induction libraries.

Currently, Luc holds the position of Associate Director, Machine Learning at Invitae. They are responsible for the ML Platform team and coordinate cross-team execution for new company goals that involve AI/ML integrations. Prior to this role, they were the Manager, Machine Learning at Invitae, leading the ML team and developing clinical information extraction systems and ML models.

Luc Cary earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science (B.A. & Sc.) degree with a major in Cognitive Science and a minor in History from McGill University, where they studied from 2009 to 2013. Luc also obtained a High School Diploma from Cape Elizabeth High School, graduating between 2005 and 2009. In addition, Luc completed the NYU Tandon Bridge Program in Computer Science at NYU Tandon School of Engineering in 2017.
