Mita Hartland

Mita Hartland has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Mita currently holds the position of Chief Information Security Officer & VP of IT Operations at Invitae since April 2023. Prior to this, Mita served as the Head of Security Governance and Compliance at Invitae from August 2021 to May 2023.

Before joining Invitae, Mita worked at RMS as the Director of Information Security - GRC & Application Security from June 2018 to August 2021. Mita also gained valuable experience as the Senior Program Manager of Global Information Security at Proofpoint from March 2017 to May 2018.

Mita's earlier roles include positions at RMS as Staff Senior Program Manager - Information Security & Compliance from November 2013 to March 2017, Technical Implementation Manager at iTradeNetwork from August 2011 to October 2013, and Executive Director - Network Operations at AT&T from January 2005 to October 2008.

Mita also held leadership positions at SBC Inc. as Executive Director - Network Services Organizations from January 2003 to December 2005 and at Pacific Bell as Area Manager - IT Services / PMO from May 1981 to December 2002.

Throughout their career, Mita has gained expertise in various aspects of information security, program management, and network operations.

Mita Hartland completed their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from San Jose State University between 1979 and 1983. Mita also obtained a high school diploma from Good Shephard Convent High School. Additionally, Mita holds several certifications including ISO Auditing Module (TPECS) and ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Requirements (TPECS) from BSI Group America, as well as Team Leader Module - Leading Management Systems Audits teams (TPECS) certification. Mita is also a certified CISM professional from ISACA, although the year of attainment is unknown.
