Shawn Lockery has a long and varied work experience. Shawn began their career in 1989 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at The Salk Institute for Biological Studies. In 1993, they joined the Institute of Neuroscience University of Oregon, where they held the roles of Director of Graduate Studies, Professor of Biology, and Director. In 2011, they co-founded both NemaMetrix, Inc and InVivo Biosystems Inc, where they served as Co-founder and CTO in both companies.
Shawn Lockery began their educational journey in 1976, when they attended Yale University and earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Philosophy and Psychology. Shawn then went on to the University of Oxford as a Wellcome Trust Scholar, studying Psychology, Philosophy, and Physiology from 1981 to 1983. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biology (neuroscience) at UC San Diego from 1983 to 1989.
