Trent Kirk

Trent Kirk has extensive work experience in the field of intellectual property law. Trent began their career in 2003 at Alston & Bird, where they worked as a Partner. During their time at Alston & Bird, Trent procured patents in various technologies, prosecuted patent applications, conducted freedom-to-practice investigations, and provided legal opinions on patentability, infringement, and invalidity. Trent also advised clients on trademark and IP transactional matters and conducted IP due diligence for corporate transactions. In 2013, Trent joined InVue as the Chief IP Counsel, responsible for managing the company's intellectual property portfolio and handling contracts and compliance issues. Since then, they have also taken on the role of General Counsel, serving as the solo attorney for the company.

Trent Kirk's education history begins in 1994 when they attended Clemson University. Trent completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering respectively, in the year 2000. Afterward, Trent pursued their legal education at the University of South Carolina School of Law from 2000 to 2003, where they earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree.

In addition to their formal education, Trent Kirk has obtained two certifications related to information privacy management. In June 2022, they became a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and also earned The Certified Information Privacy Professional - United States (CIPP/US) certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
