Simon Robin has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Simon started their career in 2012 as a Network Administrator at Aviva plc. In 2012, they also worked as a Security Researcher at ESIEA - Operational Cryptology and Virology lab, where they studied bootloaders and emerging technologies. In 2014, they worked as a Software Engineer at Airbus Defence and Space, where they developed a receiver and parser for a vulnerability watch service and automated real-time monitoring and analysis correlation of logs/alerts. Simon then joined Thales in 2015 as a Vulnerability Researcher. Their responsibilities included conducting penetration tests on web and mobile applications, as well as networks and cloud platforms. In 2016, they joined IOActive, Inc. as a Senior Security Consultant. Their role involved conducting penetration tests, spear phishing campaigns, red teaming, and threat modeling engagements.

Simon Robin has a diverse and extensive education history in the field of information security and computer science. In 2017, they completed a Postgraduate Research Semester at Imperial College London, focusing on Chromium Security. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2016, Simon pursued a Master's Degree in Information Security at Royal Holloway, University of London. Simon further enhanced their knowledge by obtaining a Master's Degree in Computer Science from ESIEA - ÉCOLE D'INGÉNIEUR·E·S D'UN NUMÉRIQUE UTILE, where they studied from 2010 to 2015.

Simon also engaged in several additional training courses to refine their skills. In 2021, they received training in Hacking and Securing Cloud Infrastructure at Claranet (NotSoSecure). In 2019, they completed a training program in Information Security Architect (ISA) at Gottlieb-Daimler-Schule Sindelfingen. Additionally, Simon acquired specialized knowledge in hacking countermeasures through a training course, ITE516 Hacking Countermeasures, at Charles Sturt University in 2014. In 2013, they underwent training in Digital Forensics at Erasmus Centrum voor Zorgbestuur. Furthermore, Simon obtained training as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) at Wrexham Glyndŵr University from 2011 to 2012.

Apart from their educational accomplishments, Simon has acquired various certifications to bolster their expertise. Simon is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), which they obtained from (ISC)² in May 2022. In December 2020, Simon became an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CCP) through Amazon Web Services (AWS). Furthermore, they hold the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification from Offensive Security, obtained in November 2017, and the Offensive Security Wireless Professional (OSWP) certification, obtained in April 2017. Simon is also a CREST Practitioner Security Analyst (CPSA), certified by CREST - www.crest-approved.org, and obtained the CREST Registered Penetration Tester (CRT) certification from the same institution in October 2019 and October 2018, respectively.
