Frederick Phua

Frederick Phua has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Frederick began their career with an internship at Philips Singapore in 2005. Frederick then moved on to Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., where they held various positions including Industrial Designer, Senior Industrial Designer, and Lead Industrial Designer from 2013 to 2021. In their most recent role at Yamaha, they served as the Design Lead/Creative Strategist at the Yamaha Motor Innovation Lab Tokyo. Currently, Frederick is the Head of Design at ION Mobility, a position they have held since January 2022.

Frederick Phua has a diverse education history in the field of design and engineering. Frederick obtained a Master of Science degree in Innovation Design Engineering from Imperial College London. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial and Product Design from Nagoya University of Arts. Additionally, they earned a Master of Arts degree in Innovation Design Engineering from the Royal College of Art. Their education journey began at Temasek Polytechnic, where they completed high school and studied Industrial and Product Design.
