Sotirios Tsimikas

Sotirios Tsimikas is an experienced medical professional with a robust background in cardiovascular development and academic medicine. Since July 2014, Sotirios has held several senior leadership positions at Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., currently serving as Senior Vice President of Global Cardiovascular Development, and previously as Vice President in multiple roles. Additionally, since July 1997, Sotirios has been a Professor of Medicine/Cardiology and the Director of Vascular Medicine at the University of California School of Medicine. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from UMass Chan Medical School (1984-1988) and training at UC San Diego (1992-1997).
