Katie Fischer, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, has a solid work experience in various HR roles. Katie started their career at Target as an Executive Team Leader Human Resources, where they managed all HR aspects for over 250 team members. Katie facilitated the hiring process, handled payroll, and ensured compliance with legal standards. Katie then worked at Northwestern University as a Personnel Specialist, where they managed recruitment, implemented staff development programs, and provided advice on employee relations. Currently, they are the Vice President Human Resources at Iowa Bankers, where they direct and leads all HR services for the company. Katie is responsible for talent development and management, as well as coordinating talent acquisition and retention efforts. Katie also advises and consults with member banks on HR management.
Katie Fischer, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology from Iowa State University in 2008. In 2013, they attended the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for HR Management School. Katie also completed Mediation Skills Training at Northwestern University. Katie holds certifications including Certified Association Executive (CAE) from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, SHRM-SCP from SHRM, and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI.
