Brett Moolenschot

Brett Moolenschot has a diverse work experience in various industries and roles. Brett started their career in 2013 as a Water Loss Control Engineer at JOAT Group, where they were responsible for water network redesign. Brett then moved on to Caudwell Marine, a marine motorsport and F1H2O company, where they quickly advanced to a senior level Mechanical Design Engineer, leading the development of the diesel engine sub-system.

In 2015, Moolenschot joined Vantage Power LTD as a Mechanical Design Engineer, overseeing the core range extender project for hybrid systems in London buses. Brett later founded their own company, Schot Technology Ltd, and worked closely with the British Ministry of Defence to develop a novel electric powertrain.

In 2018, Moolenschot joined Orphidia, Inc., a pre-revenue hardware startup in the medical devices industry, as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer and later became the Head of Mechanical Engineering. Brett was responsible for designing the complex mechanisms and system internals of the desktop blood testing device.

Moolenschot then participated in the Entrepreneur First entrepreneurship acceleration program in 2019, where they worked on various company concepts and technology development for micromobility ridesharing market. This led him to co-found Coast Technologies, a company focused on fixing the problem of ensuring micro-mobility by developing self-moving and reorganizing scooters and bicycles.

After their entrepreneurial endeavors, Moolenschot joined Mobilus Labs as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, delivering the mechanical aspects of bone conductive audio products and communications software platform.

Most recently, in 2020, Moolenschot joined IPG as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer and later progressed to the roles of Senior Product Manager and Technical Director. IPG is an early-stage hardware startup in the climate tech industry, developing a unique flameless generator technology for pollutant-free emissions and energy transition.

Throughout their career, Moolenschot has gained extensive experience in mechanical design, product management, and startup development, demonstrating their technical expertise, leadership skills, and entrepreneurial mindset.

Brett Moolenschot completed their education with a Master of Science in Systems Engineering Management from UCL from 2017 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. Brett began their educational journey at St Charles College from 2003 to 2007, although the specific degree and field of study are not provided.
