Dmitri Novikov

Director Of Business Development - Aerospace at IPG Photonics

Dmitri Novikov has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Dmitri began their career as a Research Associate at the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solid State Chemistry, where they conducted research in the field of solid-state chemistry. Dmitri later joined Northwestern University as a Senior Research Associate, continuing their research work.

In 1998, Dmitri joined Arthur D. Little, Inc. (later TIAX LLC) as a Lead Scientist and Consultant. Dmitri played a key role in developing novel interconnect materials for solid-oxide fuel cells and creating high-energy, high-performance cathode materials for commercial companies.

In 1998, Dmitri also joined TIAX LLC as a Scientist, where they contributed to various scientific projects until 2007.

In 2007, Dmitri took on the role of Chief Technology Officer at Atomistix A/S, a leading provider of modeling tools for nanoelectronics. Dmitri successfully expanded the company's customer base in the US and developed a new market in Magnetic RAM.

From 2008 to 2015, Dmitri worked at the United Technologies Research Center, first as a Principal Scientist and later as a Technical Fellow. Dmitri'sresponsibilities included leading research projects and presenting scientific findings at conferences and seminars.

In 2015, Dmitri joined IPG Photonics as the Director of Industrial Applications. Then, in 2017, they moved to Pratt & Whitney, where they held the position of Fellow until 2021. Currently, Dmitri is the Director of Business Development - Aerospace at IPG Photonics.

Dmitri Novikov has a strong background in education, specializing in various fields of study. From 1978 to 1984, they attended the Ural State Institute of Technology, earning an M.S. degree in Engineering with a focus on Nuclear Physics and Spectroscopy. In parallel, they also pursued a Ph.D. from 1978 to 1983 at the Ural State Technical University, specializing in Physics and Mathematics.

Additionally, Dmitri Novikov holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical/Computational Physics from the Russian Academy of Sciences. Dmitri has also obtained the ACE Certification Program, although the details of the institution and the year of completion are not provided.
