Dulce J. Cortez

Wetlands Ecologist at Irvine Ranch Water District

Dulce J. Cortez has extensive experience in environmental science and education, currently serving as a Wetlands Specialist at Irvine Ranch Water District since February 2021 and as a Graduate Student Researcher and Graduate Teaching Assistant at San Francisco State University since August 2017. Prior roles include California Sea Grant State Fellow at the Port of San Diego, contributing to the protection and conservation of the Bay's natural resources, and an internship at the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission's Sediment Management Division. Additional experience includes serving as a Science Instructor at Ocean Institute and working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at California State University, Fullerton. Dulce J. Cortez holds a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Marine and Estuarine Science from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor's degree in Geological and Earth Sciences from California State University, Fullerton.
