Erna Hjaltested is the General Counsel at Isavia and serves as a lecturer in European law at Reykjavik University. With experience as an attorney at the Office of the Attorney General and a legal advisor at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, Erna has held various legal positions since the late 1990s. They were the Head of Legal Coordination at EFTA from 2008 to 2014 and the Head of Division for Financial Services from 2014 to 2022. Currently, Erna is also a member of the Financial Supervisory Board of the Central Bank of Iceland. Erna holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Comparative Law from the University of Miami School of Law and additional degrees in law and language studies.
