Ben Jafek has held various roles in the field of computer vision since 2017. In that year, they worked as a Research Assistant at BYU Vision, where they developed models of visual saliency with professors in both cognitive and computer science. Ben also worked as a Data Scientist at BYU Publications and Graphics, where they used Tensorflow, Keras, SKLearn, and NLTK to make a speech popularity predictor for the written content on the university-sponsored website speeches.byu.edu. Additionally, they were a Computer Vision Intern at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where they wrote GUIs, managed files, developed and tested machine learning models, performed statistical analysis, and wrote technical documents. In 2018, they worked as a Perception Engineer at Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation. Currently, they are a Senior Perception Engineer at ISEE, where they work on real-time 3D detection and tracking of objects inside of trailer yards.

Ben Jafek earned a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics from Brigham Young University.
