Lia Morris

Lia Morris is a seasoned professional in community development and environmental policy, currently serving as the Senior Community Development Officer at Island Institute since August 2021. In this role, Lia leads the Marine Decarbonization program, focusing on beneficial electrification initiatives along Maine's coastline, including electric and hybrid-electric marine propulsion projects. Previously, Lia held various positions such as Community Development Officer at Island Institute, STEM Advisor at Colby College, and Executive Director at Teens to Trails. Lia's extensive experience also includes tenure at Colby College as Coordinator of the Environmental Studies Program and Communications and Outreach Coordinator at Penobscot River Restoration Trust. Lia holds a Master's degree from Tufts University in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Colorado Boulder in Environmental Studies and Biology.
